2010-07-28 20:39:57 If one of you doesn't qualify for migration as a skilled worker by having qualifications and/or acceptable work experience in an occupation on the SOL or ENSOL, I'm afraid that you will never be able to become Permanent Residents. All may however not be lost. Check out the ANZSCO job description for Office Manager and see if it fits your husband:http://www.abs.gov.au/ausstats/abs@.nsf/Product+Lookup/1220.0~First+Edition,+Revision+1~Chapter~UNIT+GROUP+5121+Office+ManagersAnd see if he meets the VETASSESS skills assessment requirements for same:http://www.immi.gov.au/asri/occupations/o/office-manager.htmIf the job fits and if he would be able to get skills assessment and can meet the other requirements for that visa, perhaps his employer would be prepared to sponsor him for an Employer Nomination Scheme (Subclass 121/856) visa:http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/skilled-workers/ens/That occupation seems to me to be the closest fit, but you can look for other ideas on the ENSOL:http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/_pdf/ensol.pdf The ENSOL - it's the ANZSCO column you need.Cross check any likely occupation to the ASRI list where you'll find links to the ANZSCO job description and skills assessment information:http://www.immi.gov.au/asri/a-z.htm#a This booklet may make it a bit easier to understand:http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/booklets/1131.pdfGood luck! And laduree2 (and OP) - It certainly says that, but what it doesn't say is that they can't just apply for PR by filling in a form. They must qualify in exactly the same way as applies to people from any other country. It's a bit easier for Kiwis because they are able to work and study here at domestic rates, but they still have to qualify like everyone else. |
